Hosta leaves, Zebra grass, 36 x 48 inches (91.44 x 122 cm)

Made from raw plant material found in my backyard: woven zebra grass; hundreds of layered hosta leaves. Put together in a single day—and needing enough sunlight to document with photos—this process was filled with anxiety. Maybe that was the point. This piece is a comment on sustainability, biodegradability, impermanence, and the evils of fast fashion.
